            In 1995, John had the good fortune to receive in training the young two-year-old stallion named "A GOOD MACHINE"  from his owners Skip and Mary Niklaus.    Dr. Niklaus and his wife Mary of Enola, Pennsylvania sent the two year old to John to be trained for the 1995 Congress 2 Year Old Western Pleasure Futurity.    John instantly fell in love with "Mac" and when asked  what one thing he would change about A Good Machine if he could, John replied that the only thing that he would change would be that he (John) owned the horse.  The Niklaus' and the Dean's became partners on A Good Machine in 1996 and remained co-owners of the stallion for 5 years.   In 2001, the opportunity arose for the Dean's to purchase the Niklaus' portion of A Good Machine and in September of 2001, they happily became the sole owners of the popular stallion.
